What Security will Protect your Credit Card Information?

Since you arrived here, you are probably interested in the security associated with leaving your credit card information here in payment for our products. That is a valid concern, and an issue that I'd like to tell you about.

We value our reputation, and our customers. We would not do anything to endanger our customers' credit card numbers/information, and in fact, have done quite a few things to ensure their safety.

We use one of the finest internet shopping cart software packages available today, ShopSite, made by ICentral. While it is certainly not the cheapest alternative, we believe it is one of the safest in regards to keeping credit card numbers safe. ICentral has been in the ECommerce business for many years now, and has done a good job in the crafting of ShopSite. In today's world, you stand a greater risk of inappropriate access of your credit card number by using it at a gas station or restaurant, than in electronic commerce on the internet.

Our ShopSite storefront is hosted on a top-of-the-line, high speed, secure web server. It makes your browser go into 'secure mode' with its Digital Certificate issued by Verisign. Again, other brands of Digital Certificates are less expensive, but Verisign's work with more browsers in the world today. When your browser goes into 'secure mode' you'll notice an indication - If you're running Netscape, you'll see a key like or a locked padlock. Other browsers have similar indications.

When your browser goes into 'secure mode', it is using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), and all information you enter is encrypted within your computer before it is sent over the internet. This occurs on the "Finalize Order" page on this site, which is the page where you input your credit card number. On the "Finalize Order" page, after our web server receives it, only then is it decrypted and acted upon. Your credit card information is never sent within an email - that would put it at risk. So after you place your order, I connect to the same web server, OutdoorExpressions.com, also using SSL for encryption, and download your order. Your credit card information never travels on the internet again, and is routed through normal merchant payment clearing channels.

I hope this alleviates any concern you may have about placing an online order here. Or you can e-mail your order and phone in your credit card number. NEVER e-mail your credit card number since this is not encrypted.
